Kincaid Rabb is a musicmaker, writer, storyteller, pedagogue, and tyrannosaurus rex. Kincaid creates music for waders, swimmers, and divers alike, each new work an invitation to go on an adventure. A lifelong learner and advocate for continuing education, Kincaid specializes in teaching beginning and avocational composers of all ages. Kincaid writes poetry, nonfiction, short stories, fanfiction, and the occasional long-winded blog post. And also music. Kincaid writes music.
Kincaid’s music has been performed on three continents and at numerous conferences and festivals by renowned performers and ensembles including Paradise Winds, Kontra Duo, OboeBass!, The _____ Experiment, Driftwood Quintet, and Syrinx Quintet. Kincaid holds degrees from the University of Arizona and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and their principal teachers include Douglas Harbin, Daniel Asia, Pamela Decker, Jennifer Bellor, and Jennifer Jolley.
Kincaid’s works are exclusively published by Trevco Music. Kincaid lives in Las Vegas, Nevada with their partner Kevin and a wholly unreasonable amount of Magic: the Gathering cards.
The best way to commission Kincaid is to get to know them by connecting with them directly on social media, by email, or in person. It is most likely that Kincaid will become passionate about your idea to the point that they make music for you without you being able to assemble an apparatus for funding their work. Kincaid is open to gifting new music, bartering for a commission, paying what you can, and traditional commissioning.
Kincaid’s sheet music is exclusively available in print from Trevco Music. Kincaid does not digitally distribute their scores outside commissioning. To inquire about a score not currently available from Trevco, email Kincaid directly.
Kincaid offers private composition lessons through Canopy Composers’ Studio. You can find more information about becoming a Canopy Composer here.
Kincaid is mostly off-the-grid. With the exception of Instragram and Bluesky, Kincaid does not keep social media or email on their phone, and limits most social media and email to desktop use only. If you would like to contact Kincaid, please reach out through Instagram or by emailing them.
